Wild Horses of America
WILD HORSES AND BURROS
Over 60,000 wild horses and burros (as of October 2023) have been removed from their natural habitats and are confined in corrals and pastures. Our solution? Keeping them on the range and controlling their population with humane contraception. Support us in managing the Onaqui Mountain Herd’s growth—Donate Now

OUR PURPOSE AND GOAL
Partnered with the BLM, the Wild Horses of America Foundation administers contraceptives to Onaqui Mountain Herd mares in Utah’s west desert.
Our goal: regulate reproduction, minimizing the need for future gathers and removals to control herd size. PZP, the best available tool, effectively manages numbers while preserving natural horse behavior. Learn more on our PZP page.
